Description

A simple yet delicious Italian pasta dish made with garlic, olive oil, and chili flakes.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 400g spaghetti
  • 6 cloves garlic, finely sliced
  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp red chili flakes
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the spaghetti in salted boiling water until al dente, according to package instructions.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
  4. Add the red chili flakes and sauté for another minute.
  5. Drain the spaghetti, reserving some cooking water, and add it to the skillet.
  6. Toss the spaghetti in the garlic oil mixture, adding reserved pasta water if needed.
  7. Season with salt and garnish with chopped parsley and Parmesan cheese if desired.
  8. Serve immediately.

Notes

For a milder version, decrease the amount of chili flakes.
